There's a lot to discover on the Playmais farm. In this short story, young children accompany the farmer on his search for the rooster. Ideal for crafting and acting out!
The farmer overslept
Oh dear, the farmer overslept. What's going on? The rooster usually crows in the morning when the sun rises. Today, there was no sound! The farmer gets up and looks around the farmyard: Where is the rooster?
The little piggy
The farmer goes into the stable. There, the piglet is taking a nap. The farmer asks, "Piglet, have you seen the rooster? He didn't crow this morning." The piglet grunts and answers the farmer, "I'm still so tired and I have no idea where the rooster is. Have you looked in the meadow yet? Maybe the cow knows where the rooster is."
The cow in the meadow
The farmer is still looking for the rooster. The pig doesn't know where the rooster is hiding either. The farmer goes to the meadow and asks the cow: "Hello cow, have you seen the rooster? He didn't crow this morning, and the piglet doesn't know where he's hiding either?"
The cow chews relishly on a tuft of grass and answers the farmer: "Sometimes the rooster likes to hide behind the house in the flower meadow. You should know that he's actually a late riser, and getting up early sometimes bothers him." The farmer laughed and thanked the cow. And then he set off for the large flower meadow.

Did you oversleep?
The farmer has been looking for the rooster all morning. Finally! He finds him in the large flower meadow and calls out: "Rooster, this can't be true!" The rooster had such a beautiful dream. He gets a fright and, with a loud "Cock-a-doodle-doo," quickly gets up. He looks at the farmer in confusion and asks: "Farmer, what's going on? Why is it so light already?"
The farmer explains to him: "You overslept, and I've been looking for you all morning. The cow told me you're overworked. Do I have to give you a day off?" The rooster laughs now too and replies to the farmer: "You don't need to give me a day off, because the farmer's wife already did that. She told me yesterday that I should get a good night's sleep, since today is Sunday."
"You overslept and I've been looking for you all morning. The cow told me you're overworked. Do I have to give you time off?"
- The farmer
Now the two laugh together and the rooster promises that he will get up on time again tomorrow and then he stands up proudly and his loud "cock-a-doodle-doo" can be heard even in the neighboring village.

Playmais is a natural toy for crafting: By lightly moistening it with water, the natural adhesive properties of the cornstarch it contains are activated. This allows the assembled Playmais pieces to create patterns, animal figures, pirate ships, objects, or entire fantasy worlds that the children themselves create.
